I love this guy! Francis Chan is the best-selling author of books, Crazy Love, Forgotten God, Erasing Hell and the host of the BASIC.series. Founding pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, California, Chan rocks it by really challenging Christians to live their faith. He’s hard-hitting, convicting, Bible-based, and a guy I could sit and have coffee with for hours.

I got turned on to Craig Groeschel when he spoke at the Willowcreek Leadership Summit. He was young, energetic, and on fire about reaching people for Christ. But more than that, he was real. I bought one of his video series to teach in my adult Sunday school class – Christian Atheist – where he talked about how many Christians actually are living like atheists. Hard hitting stuff that made me like the guy even more. His site contains downloads and online resources worth your time.

T.D. Jakes was one of the first people I was turned on to when I became serious about my faith after having been out of the church for 25 years. His book Woman Thou Art Loosed hit a nerve with me, speaking about healing for women who had been abused, abandoned, and who felt alone. Lisa and I often watched his half hour show on the Trinity Broadcast Network or as I like to call TBN, The Bible Network. Powerful speaker, doesn’t mess around about telling the truth, and has much to say.

I wasn’t familiar with Kyle but had seen his book Not a Fan at several events I attended. I decided to get his DVD set for the adult Sunday school and see what happened. I could tell by the collective look on my group’s face that they were struggling with the teaching. Kyle hit them right between the eyes – are you a fan of Jesus just play acting or are you follower devoted to living for Jesus? One in my group came up to me around lesson four and said, “You know the reason I’ve been resistant to this series? He’s talking about me!” Yup, he sure is!

I am a HUGE fan of Stedman’s work. Although no longer with us, he left us a massive collection of writings of which one of my favorites is Adventuring Through the Bible, which is a well-written, easy-to-read commentary on scripture. If you’re at a used bookstore and you run across anything by Stedman, buy it!

This guy changed my life! As my Systematic Theology professor at Liberty University, the required text was his Theology for Today. Aside from the Bible, no other book has had as a profound impact on me as this one. Granted, I love theology, which not everyone can say! But, if you want to understand God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, angels, Satan and demons, sin and salvation, the church, and end times, try to find this out-of-print book! This site has a lot of freebie resources so check it out!
